The week of September 8, 2008 we got sweet corn, carrots, green beans, salad mix, peppers, Swiss chard, herbs and peaches.
If you can’t eat that many peppers in one week, you can cut them in strips and roast them on the grill to give them that smoked flavor. Then you can either preserve them in vinaigrette or freeze them for future use.
For those of you who are not participating in the Fall CSA, but do plan to return as Spring/Summer 2009 members, thank you and we look forward to seeing you next Spring. As far as we know now, the price will be the same at $545 and is due January 1, 2009. The sign-up form will be available here in early October. All the details should be finalized by then. Eat your veggies over the winter.
Everyone – Please continue to return your boxes. The more boxes Pam has to buy, the less food you receive.

The August Local Harvest newsletter is all about tomatoes – recipes and nutrition.
Food for Thought
Dan, our webmaster, found a couple of good food blogs: Eat Well Guide and Food Declaration, and an inspiring article about food supporters who volunteered their back yards to a young farmer so he could have land to grow.
Cheers,
Erin
